Do dogs actually sing to music?
Dogs have been known to howl along with sirens and other high-pitched noises, but what about music? It turns out that some dogs do enjoy singing along to their favorite tunes. A study conducted by the Journal of Experimental Psychology found that certain breeds of dogs, such as border collies and Australian shepherds, are more likely to “sing” to human music. The study found that these dogs were more likely to emit a long sustained vowel sound when they heard music, unlike other dogs who simply barked or whined. So if you’re looking for a canine companion who will serenade you with their own rendition of “Old Macdonald Had a Farm,” you might want to consider one of these two breeds.
