He saw the poor dog stuck to the frozen sewer lid, his heart went out to the poor animal. Standing there in the freezing winter air, the dog’s tongue had become completely stuck to the icy metal, and it was clear that it could not get free on its own. Without a moment of hesitation, he rushed over to help.
Working quickly but carefully, he gently pried the dog’s tongue away from the cold metal surface with warm water. He was pleased that he had been able to rescue this sweet creature from an otherwise sticky and uncomfortable situation. In that moment, he realized what it truly meant to be kind.
