The air was crisp and clean and the sun came down in filtered rays between the tree branches. As I walked I could hear the gentle breeze stirring the trees; a sound punctuated by the bullfrogs down in the lake nearby.
Whew that’s all I have folks! Trying to be poetic like Mr. Frost takes a lot of energy for an old guy like me. But oh, I’m so happy in the woods!
“Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;”
Mom and Dad decided to take me on a trail walk while little man was at school so the nugget joined us. Here she is with her backpack which has a leash Mom hasn’t used yet but probably should. That kid is worse than I am about wandering. I am happy to lead the way as we explore the wild terrain.
Well, I guess it’s not so wild after all– never mind this fancy bridge here, it’s still a pretty rustic trail. Where’d my little girl go? She’s not getting this whole follow the leader concept.
Time to take a break by the lake. Wait, what’s she holding there? A bully stick?!? I love gnawing on these! I patiently sit and wait for my special treat.
Ahh picnicking by the lake revitalizes one’s soul! I am savoring the moment out here in God’s beautiful creation and have decided to save my snack for home. This environment is a little too rustic. I prefer chewing it inside the family room on the rug. Right in the middle of foot traffic so I can be noticed. Just to keep with the vein of outdoorsiness maybe Mom can move my bed outside so I can enjoy it al fresco but yet close to the comforts of home.
Home again. Yummy! I like the beefy flavor – Mom didn’t tell me what part of the cow this is but I do like the flavor and chewiness- supposedly the texture helps to keep my teeth clean. I don’t know about all of that but chewing it helps me to get out some of my anxiety and nervous energy. Mom likes that it is made in the USA too. Nom nom nom.
As nice as it is being outside I really do prefer enjoying this treat in my normal fashion. Mom, stop taking pictures and let me in the house! Onward to the family room folks!
