Getting sick is the WORST. You can’t move around, you don’t feel good, and sometimes you need someone else to take care of you. I don’t like that at all. It feels terrible, and I do everything I can to avoid getting sick. I don’t play in the rain, I don’t eat old food, and I don’t ever play with bugs. And so far, it’s worked! I haven’t gotten sick in a long, long time.
But sometimes, it’s humans that get sick instead of doggos.
Someone you love getting sick is somehow worse than you getting sick yourself. It makes me so sad to see my human not feeling well. And then, his family took him to the hospital, and I couldn’t see him anymore! It was torture, having to stay in someone else’s house, sleep in a different bed, eat different food. It was hard, but I knew I had to be strong for my human.
And soon enough, I was able to visit him!
I Missed You A Lot, Dad
It was great being able to see him. I had to be careful because he was still weak and had some tubes in him. It wasn’t easy seeing him like that, but I was too happy to see him to really think about that.
I’m not sure what went wrong, or why he needed to come here, but the doctors seem really smart, and he definitely seems better!
I have to really try hard and not bring him home with me. If he feels all better, why can’t he come now??
I’ll just need to be patient for a little bit longer. Soon enough I’ll be able to bring him home and play with him again! Oh boy, I can’t wait!
Are We Going Home Now?
Well, the family says that he needs to stay a little bit longer. Maybe just one more day or two to make sure that he’s really okay. That’s fine, I get that. But at the very least, I should be able to help get him some exercise! I should be able to get him moving. I bet if he’s up and at ’em he’ll feel better in no time!
I hope they’re feeding him well, here. I always hear that hospital food is the worst! Maybe we should’ve cooked something and brought it to him. I bet he’d prefer that over the chicken and jello I saw someone eating on the way here.
Next Time, We Bring Food
I don’t know much about cooking, but I know other people in the family do. Maybe when we get home I can pull up a recipe from one of my human’s cookbooks so that they can whip up something good! (And maybe make some doggie-safe leftovers for me.) I bet that would get my human strong again even faster. He really likes anything with turkey, so we should start there! I already have some recipes in mind.
Let’s Go Home Now
Well, it was great to see my dad again, but I guess if he needs to stay a bit longer, I should get back home. I want him to focus on getting better, and that can’t happen if I’m here trying to play with him! My next job should be seeing how I can help my dad get better. I should get some of his favorite books, his video games, maybe a magazine. I mean, all he has here is a TV that’s on the news! That’s no fun for him.
Don’t worry dad! You’ll be feeling better in no time.
