A Frog on a Dog Goes for a Friendly Water Adventure

Some of my favorite times are when the hoomans take me outside and down to the river.

Going for walks are great, but getting outside in nature is even better!

Why?

I get to explore a new place, and sometimes I even make new friends.

Dog Meets Frog

One day, my peoples took me out on a walk in the woods — they like to call these types of walks “hikes” — and of course, I got into the water because I am a Golden Retriever and I love water!

I wanted to go exploring, and to feel the nice cool water on my fur. It was a hot day, and I needed some cooling off. As I was wading my way through the water, I felt something on my back all of a sudden.

“What the?!”

I was quite confuzzled.

Then I turned my head and was so happy. It was a frog!

I is a dog. And he is a frog. It was like we were meant to be friends together.

“What’s your name?” I asked the froggo.

“My name is Steve. What’s yours, doggo?” the frog asked.

“I’m Rufus! Nice to meet you.”

Steve and I became fast friends. He needed a ride down the river, and I was more than happy to oblige.

The hoomans were so surprised! They couldn’t believe that a froggo and a doggo met in the river. They thought we were so cute. And I mean, they were right, weren’t they? We are adorable!

Steve & Rufus Go On An Adventure

We decided to keep adventuring together as I gave Steve a little ride down the river. The other animals nearby may have seen us as an odd couple, but we loved it!

Together, we were quite the fun duo. Mr. Froggy could hop and swim, but I could also run fast! Steve says “ribbit ribbit” and I say “woof woof!” He was slimy, I was furry. He was little, and I was big. We were opposite in many ways, but we learned a lot from each other.

We had a fun time out there in the woods together, and I wanted him to come home with me and the hoomans. But he told me that he couldn’t leave his own home and family, and that made me sad. It made me sad, but I guess I understood.

Goodbye, Steve

Alas, my friend Steve was not and could not be forever friends. I was sad to see him go, but I knew what he had to do.

He lives in the woods, and I live with the hoomans. While I love to adventure some days, I also love my treats and my toys and my fluffy bed. I wasn’t prepared to stay in the woods forever!

I had to say farewell to Steve, but I know one day we’ll meet again. I’ll always remember my froggy friend.
