Okay, this blog is for the doggos only!
Listen up guys and gals! There are many ways that we can have fun, you know? We dogs have lots of options to pass the time! We can go to the dog park and run around with other dogs, we can chase squirrels and we can also bark at the mailmen who get too close to my family’s home. And that’s just off the top of my head!
But there’s something else we can do – jump rope! It might seem new and scary, but hear me out!
This New Game is Fun
So here’s how the game goes: two humans hold the rope and swing it around while the other humans and I jump over it. Yeah, that’s it! That’s all you have to do! It’s just jumping, but you have to be more careful.
It’s almost like trying to clear a bar in one of those dog jumping competitions, but this time the bar is moving! It might sound scary, but if you’re coordinated you can do it! The tough part is trying to keep from tripping. Nothing worse than being in the middle of a good jump and totally losing your footing.
The Purpose of this Game is Unclear
It’s a fun game, but I can’t say there’s much of a point to it. With burying stuff the goal is to make sure the thing gets buried. When you run, the point is to run as far as you can as fast as you can. With fetch the goal is to always bring the stick back and fast!
So…. I guess the point is to jump as many times as you can until you get tired or fall? That’s how I’ve been playing it. Well, you know what? I really like that! I wanna see if I can get more and more jumps in each and every day! I see why humans make whole competitions out of this.
These Young Humans Are Good at Jumping
Humans are super good at this game, too! Especially the human pups. They’re small, so they can jump without having to worry about getting hit with the rope. I think grown ups are good at jumping rope, too, but they need the bigger ones to make sure they don’t get hurt. A lot of the time, they’ll jump by themselves too. I bet that’s a great way to do exercise! Gosh, humans can be really strong, huh?
I learned how to jump rope from humans. They taught me how to play the game, and were super patient with me while I was still learning. It was so fun, and now I love to play with them almost every day! I’ve gotten so good at it, and my legs have gotten so strong!
This Jumping Game is Good Exercise
Ever since I started jumping rope, I’ve been able to run faster and for longer, and I’ve been able to go up and down stairs faster. I think I’ve even lost weight and started breathing better! I’ve gotten so strong since I started jumping rope. Every dog should be doing this to stay tough and healthy. Little walks along the sidewalk just won’t cut it!
My balance has also gotten way better. Are there any downsides to this?
Well, I can think of one downside. You always end up so tired and hungry afterward! I want to do nothing more than eat a big bowl of kibble and go to sleep after I do lots of jumping rope. And I’m getting close to finishing my jump rope session for today. Beef kibble and naps, here I come!
